Do you need the EGR Valve, or the EGR Solenoid?

You'd be looking at part number 1 or number 7.

Notice, so as not to seem like a post wh*re, I edited my previous post to include the part numbers.

This could have been my 10,901th post.

Check to make sure you are only getting an EGR fault code. My coolant sensor went south and it tripped an EGR code and a coolant sensor code. Once I changed the sensor it fixed the EGR system.

When you stand at the front of the SVX and look at the engine it's at the rear of the engine on the left side. You can't see it because it is hidden under the wires and hoses. It may be easier to spot the stainlees steel heat shields on the tubing that connects the manifolds to the valve. The heat shields are held on the tubing by squeeze tangs. This allows the heat shields to be pulled off the tubing. Happy hunting

Thanks commuter, I've been looking for a pic for him but none could be found. I myself would like a detail of what is what as far as what is the EGR Solenoid and what is the EGR Valve. I was hoping someone would have done a how to on cleaning or replacing the EGR. I currently have a code for it. I'm not to good with directions either

Thanks Guys (again)

I've got 3 codes (all at once ?): RH O2 Sensor, VSS2, and EGR.

I'm getting the O2 and VSS2 from folks here on the forums (used) since I didn't want to buy new parts for an old car...heh.
I'm quite handy with cars, so replacing them shouldn't be too bad (sometimes the O2's take a torch to heatup the exhaust flange, so luckily I've got a Mapp Torch).

Also, noticed that the ECU 'may' give an EGR code if its pulling other codes too. I'm going to get the O2 and VSS2 done, then clear the codes and maybe the EGR will go away.
They're hard to find used, so not many folks part out the engine (and its where it lies). Also, there's a few valves and hoses that makeup the assembly...

Anyway, you know what I'm doing this weekend !
