Goodbye Everybody

February 13, 2003-July 20, 2004
What a great journey it's been. But as we all know, all good things eventually come to a close.

If you're wondering what I'm talking about, I'll tell you. I...I... <breaks down in tears>... I sold my beloved SVX. It was a difficult decision to make, but I just had to because of rising college debt. Another reason I sold it is because I was given an offer that I just couldn't refuse. To all of you SVXers that have the base-model FWD SVXs (as I had), you know how difficult it is to try and sell a Front Wheel Drive Subaru to somebody. It's borderline impossible (especially here in the Northwest).

Well, I'm going to miss the SVX and the SVX community dearly, especially the Northwest Group. However, I can guarantee one thing: I will be back w/ another SVX. It just might be a while though...

P.S. I left one thing, and only one thing in the SVX when I turned it over to the new owner. In the trunk I left a panoramic picture of the Northwest SVX Group (with the SVXs in the back) from the Spring Classic Meet. On the back of the picture I wrote: "www.subaru-svx.net"

Re: Goodbye Everybody

That's awesome! Hope the new owner joins the party...

Good luck and don't be a stranger!

I know I'm only a short-timer , but, I'll tell you like I've told everyone else: "Once an SVXer, ALWAYS and SVXer." Just cuz you don't physically own one, doesn't mean you can't hang around here and pi$$ and moan with the rest of us.

Keep your chin up and your debt down. Keep hanging 'round, and, when the time comes, someone here may be needing to pass their SVX to someone else. We've gotta keep 'em in the family.

SO sad...I'm sorry for your loss

Where do i send the flowers.....will there be some words? -lol-
Actually..I am joking but it is a sad day when you loose such a beloved posession such as a car as RARE and neat as ours (SVX) and as a cheap FWD L owner..hey there are upsides to it, like better tranny life... less maint. cost and a lil faster off the line times -lol- ok maybe true I don't know... but i know this: AWD or not I still love mine.. and when its time to send her or him (not sure how to check cars just heard ships are always refferd to as her..so i fiqured the same applied to cars) to somone else to love and enjoy I will break down and get an AWD now that i know.. hell I didn't know the car exsisted and what it was about when i bought mine.. knew they were rare.. and that was it.. did some research and found out what i had (a small disapointment). But Its ok..maybe its a good thing the 1st time around.. and WE'll Appricate the AWD when we get one a lil more. Anyway...maybe a moment of silence is due and a slight bow of heads to a loss of a family member...and with a lil luck the new owner will see the pic in the trunk and join this crazy bunch of nut case's -lol- ( you have to be a lil abnormal to drive such a car like the SVX) no offense to anyone..but I think there is some truth to it..

You'll cause no offense to THIS group. We revel in our "abnormalness."

I feel so much for you. I don't know how to handle myself if I ever had to give up my car. Your idea with the photo in the trunk was a real tear jerking moment. Classic sendoff to one of the greatest cars ever made. Hope life treats you well without your baby. Thinking about it now almost makes me cry again. So, as I have done before, I will now go outside and pour out part of my 40 oz. for you and your car.

I heard this applies to Subarus in general (right before they taught me the secret handshake).
