is there an easy way to remove the lights that illuminate the buttons near the steering wheel? i.e. the hazard light switch, cruise switch, etc. so i can see what the buttons say at night. i dont wanna snap anything or anything like that. thanks in advance.

They just pry out, you could probably even pull them out with you fingers.

pop off the corner "mock button" there is a screw behind it. when you unscrew that the whole boutton bar pops out. They are just LEDs with a latex color wrap. you could replace them with just about any LED I would assume. Now that I think about it blue LEDs would look cool illuminating the button.

There is no screw. Just lower the steering wheel and pry out the button bar from each end with a small screw driver or small plastic spatula. The mini bulbs on top come out with a quarter ccw turn of a screwdriver. The illumination bulb is part # 83426PA020. B.

There is no screw. I realized that on the way home today, the screw is what hold the mounting fixture in, and you can only get to it after you pop the entire thing out, sorry for the mis-information.

no offence but you probably shouldnt drive and pull buttons off your dash at the same time...this sounds a little risky to me

Significant Technical Input
If you do a search for 'dash lights' or similar you'll find the part number for just the bulbs at Radio Shack. They cost $1.29/pair there if I remember correctly. I think someone said they're around $3.49 each at the dealer, the difference being the OEM bulbs come with the base and condom (filter). I bought a dozen at Radio Shack and they're just about gone now.

Lwin just gave me the Radio Shack bulb number - 272-1092 12 volt microlights. I have to get in and get some myself.

If you go to a computer store that specializes in OEM computer parts there is a good chance they will have 12 volt LEDs in a variety of colors, and im pretty sure they wont be as expensive as radio shack. I work at one (a computer store not readio shack)but we don't currently stock them. I will talk to the guy that orders or parts, I might be able to get an order of them for myself and sell them to you guys for cheap, depeding on the price anyway. I'll be sure to post if I can do that.
