Newly imported VL on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=170105288798

It looks nice, but it's priced at £3995

I guess it must be true what Darren said about the prices going up in Japan.

It does look nice. Are the imports regarded as better specced than the UK cars as I think my one is better looking than this and whats going on with the carpet?

Cheers

I know it has all the spec options Phil, but I could find nowhere on the eBay ad or on the site where they mention Version L or 4WS.

Did you ask them for the chassis number?

I think in theory a Version E could be specced up to the same level.

It does look nice. From what I have seen of the Japanese market, there are two markets. Low kilometres cars, and high kilometres cars.

Anything below 40K kilometres and over grade 4 seems to make good money, or at least big asking prices.

Anything over 100K kilometres and looking even remotely unloved, and the Japanese want shut of them at any price.

And they are not too keen on the poverty spec one with the grey dash.

Joe

Those are the OEM optional mats, not actually carpet, but you could be forgiven for mistaking them, as they look like Wilton.

Most people hate them, over here anyway. However, when the car was new these were an amazingly expensive option. I think they were around $1000 a set.

They are of amazing quality. They are about 1/2" deep and very densely tufted, like a really expensive carpet.

That is why I have kept mine. Nobody seems to like the colour scheme, but it is very OK in Black cars or Green cars. I might have them dyed black, they are too good to dump or sell.

You may be right. I was judging by the leather seats, CD changer and also if you look very carefully at the headlight stalk there's a line of white writing which seems likely to be the word "AUTO" rather than the icons for sidelights or headlights.

My car looked exactly like that one 8 years ago.

Phil.

Either of us could be right. It could be version L. Maybe the importer does not know the difference?

The majority of what they have described is 100% accurate. However, "handling designed by Ayrton Senna" raises an eyebrow. Where did they get that piece of information? I am an avid fan since 2000 or earlier, and I've collected all kinds of trivia about this car. That's the first time I have ever seen any indication of an Ayrton Senna connection with its development.

Is this true Phil? Have you ever heard of this connection?

Joe

Never heard that one before, sounds doubtful to me.

Maybe it's a joke.

I mean, it understeers a bit, but I would not expect it to plough into any walls, or anything.

Hiya,

My floor mats have grown on me now so they will stay in the car

Aryton Senna was contracted to Honda and was developing the Honda NSX, maybe he got confused with the N's & V's lol
I remember seeing a peice about Nurburgring and what was probaly the prototype being tested there in 1990/91 the driver was Bertrand Gachot from the Colini-Subaru F1 team,

Darren

I haven't seen a part number for that Darren, but I note she seems to be listed as an interior accessory.

There might be more information if you check on the troubleshooting section.
