Can I have my coffee now?

I stopped at a Dunkin Donuts last night on my way home. I ordered a coffee and drove up to the pick up window. A woman opened the window, took my money, started to give me my coffee, stopped, and stared at my car. "What is that!?" she said with a look of confusion. "It's a Subaru....an SVX" I replied, pratically crawling out of my window trying to get my coffee (which was still being held hostage). "What did you do to your windows?" she asked, still holding my coffee just out of reach. "Nothing, they were built like that....cool, huh?" I smiled a cheesy smile. She continued to eyeball the beastly machine before her (the car silly, not me!). "Ummm......can I have my coffee now, please?" She apologized, handed me my coffee and the SVX and I were off......

I know what you mean . It usually goes like this:

" What is it ?"

"It's an SVX. "

" Yeah, but what is it ?'

" It's a Subaru."

" Oh, I heard of it. It's the new one, isn't it ?"

" No, The new one is the WRX, it's a turbocharged flat 4. The SVX was made from '92 thru '97 and has a flat 6 cylinder engine, like a Porsche. "

"Oh, what's with those windows ?"

So it goes time after time.

My favorite was at the drive through at a Checkers...

"Wow, is that a Ferrari?!?"

I just laughed and said, "No, its a Subaru SVX"

From there the usual, "Subaru mad that?"

Life goes on.

i've gotten that one a few times now too. had some guy at taco bell in the parking lot yelling at me from across the lot asking what kind, "subaru", he yells "man, those will run forever! really sharp car!"...then the taco bell lady held my grilled stuft burritos hostage so she could ask about the windows and see how the rear ones work, then had to show her co-workers before i could finally fill my stomach.

My favorite question - "Does the other part roll down too?"

I rarely drive with my windows down, unless its between 60-75 degrees... I produce enough heat on my own...

I like it when the little kids look and point!
They're the most observant you know. And they don't care what it is, they just like how it looks.
"Cool car!!" "Look at that car!" "Awesome car!"

my windows are down all the time, we havnt seen rain since last december, even then it was just 2 days. camarillo (town i live in) has the mildest climate in the USA. Highs to lows -summer vs winter there isnt extreme difference.
