Any 5MT's near Flagstaff AZ?

Lately (ever since Huck started his thread) I've been thinking of doing the swap but it seems like it's getting harder and harder to find an SVX with a broken down transmission on the West Coast. Speaking with some members of the forums, I think it would be in my best interest to actually ride in/test drive a 5MT SVX to see if it's really worth the effort and time in locating one and performing the swap. (for me that is, I know how you all feel about yours allready )

So how 'bout it? Anyone feel comfortable letting me drive their car around?

Me and UT_SVX are doing his right now and hope to be done in around a week. But he is moving to Phoenix in I believe February next year. I'm sure you could drive it then. Or if your ever up this a ways I imagine he would let you give it a go.

Oooh.... Silver...

Actually, the main thing that turned me off about the Mica one was the thought of the tranny dying before I made it back up to Flagstaff. I've been meaning to email you lately about an SVX... Infact, I've tried to click the "pm" button for you several times only to find you don't have one. I was going to ask you if you had resources down there to do a 5MT swap, perhaps on that same Mica.

Oh, I remember now. I was checking Ebay and saw your teal car for sale so I decided to see how cheap I could get it for before emailing you.

Anyway, my current "realistic" dream is a 5MT conversion, probably with 4.11's and the possibility of the JDM WRX STi v5/6 gearset either now or down the road. A Stage I or II longassname kit and if there's money left, a nice 12" sub as well. Of course, I've only got around 5K right now so it seems that most of the current "now of later" mods would be later...

@Beldin: I don't know if I can wait until next February.

@huck: I just spent my vacation time on a family trip to Lake Powell so maybe in 6 months I'll plan a roadtrip or somethin', and wouldn't it be neat if I could brag that I owned the first 5MT conversion SVX EVAR!

Well I know that Darren is planning some trips down there to look for a place to live and his brother lives there too. So if he makes a trip down there anytime soon I'll tell him to get ahold of you first.

That is EXACTLY what I want to hear.

We can take a trip to In-n-Out and hell, maybe Dayle can come up and we can make it an AZ mini-meet.

Well hell maybe I'll have to tell him to do it and I'll just come along for the ride. I could do with a little road trip sometime soon.

well

I know the black car would make it to Flag, just
with no OD. It runs like a banshee, even thinking
about keeping it and maybe doing the swap in
it myself....
The teals a good car, but the trans is perfect in it.
The silver car I have coming in, needs a trans badly
Aprox $2000 for the car.

I know I should probably be emailing you about this, but would you ever consider selling a car after converting it for... say, me? Maybe one of your spoilers too.

Shoot, maybe the black car even. I've got all the time in the world to wait for work to be done as well. Each month I wait my bank account just grows...
