New activity for Reading this year.

For years we have been trying to get some sort of "speed" evenat set up as part of the meet. A few have made trips to the local drag strip, and one year there was an AX on Sunday about 90 minutes away.

This year we have the possibility of having an organised AX right in the parking lot of the mall adjoining the Holiday Inn on Sunday. I have been speaking with the people that organize the SCCA autocrosses for the Blue Mountain Region (Reading area).

The cost for their other events is $30 for SCCA members and $40 for non-members.

In addition to their normal classes and awards. I'm sure we can come up with our own SVX classes and awards. For novices, I'm sure there will be instructors to help you learn the way of the cone.

The more people that show interest, the better our chances of setting this up so lets get a sign up list going. When you sign up please also indicate if you are a SCCA member. Also if you want to AX but you will be in a non SVX, that is fine.

Re: New activity for Reading this year.

I have done this regions autoxs before and hands down I have not had a better time (possible exception is Harry's Mercedes club). They value giving you the most runs for the money not just a 3 and done provided you work and keep everything going. It is definately not the ridgid boys only typical autox enviroment or even the eviroment where you need to buy the newest hot car to be able to put times up that are trophy worthy. If interested, let Dave know ASAP as this is a tough thing to nail down and since this is used as a money maker for a region which is primarily known for hosting 2 well known hillclimbs each year. If you make it worth their while they will come.

2. Benebob- non SCCA- something British unless a certain rarely seen, rarely fast, rarely "allowed" to get out of a soccer van poncho wearing rocket scientist shows up with his "race SVX" Then I might be tempted to come out of retirement to once and for all silence him. Is it possible to get that race car you got down yonder in Md back here for the weekend OT?

I just now heard of this from John.
I will have the Supercharged Claret there for QUALIFIED drivers.
I will try to bring The Racer as well!

Let me know what help you might need to get it there. I can be available to assist with preparations and hopefully not run into unforseen problems at the last minute like last year.
