Pulled the pan and shook the rods to see if they had movement in them. They seem fine and no wierd chunks or particles in the pan or oil.

Well put the pan back on and started to prep the motor to be taken out. I'm pretty much down to disconnecting the power steering hard line, unbolting the crossmember, unbolt the exhaust and thats about it. Once that's done all I can do is wait until my damn lottery check comes in to fix it which is late by the way

Well got the motor pulled and the flex plate is NOT broke so it looks like im replacing the motor. Also the C clip in the front diff popped out a little where the tourqe converter goes so I need to get a pick in there to put it back in place.

Crap...
Did you take the flex plate off? I've seen cracks try to hide behind that small inner ring that couldn't be seen when it was in place.

pulled it off with no cracks, also pulled the sleeve that clips on the TC and the C-clip is bent and one of the hooks is snapped off, probably from pulling the motor ohh well.

Still dont know what the knock was from. I thought flexplate and was wrong, no metal in the oil, plugs looked good, its just wierd. The only thing I found was the c clip to the tc to the 6in shaft to hold them together was broke but i'm guessing from pulling the motor.
