Re: Manual swap, not starting

Key is still stuck and starter still iffy. I'm going to try what Icingdeath suggested probably tomorrow. My new slave cylinder and the bolts for my transmission brace should fiiiinnnallly arrive then. Knowing my luck, it will rain.

There are two vacuum leaks that I know of now that you mention it. I'll knock those out too, but I gotta find and probably make a bracket to mount my catch can.

Re: Manual swap, not starting

Haven't got around to trying to jump it yet, however I did replace the Bosch relay under the steering column last night... That didn't do a thing.

In unrelated news, unless there is some kind of mistake with FedEx's tracking... I think someone stole my package of bolts off my front porch...

Re: Manual swap, not starting

I'm afraid you are going to have to be more specific. If it's under the front of the center console near the shifter, then it's already been long since removed by the previous owner.

Getting the car to start first time every time is my major concern. Removing the key has been my last priority as of late, since without the slave installed I'm pretty sure the car isn't going anywhere haha.

You could try fitting the Bosch relay to the starter. Usually does the job, have a look here;

Rearward of the E-brake. You would have to remove the e-brake handle, remove the 3 screws under the cover inside the pocket under the arm rest door, The two panels on either side immediately in front of the console, and the two screws on either side that they were hiding. Then you will be able to see the box to unplug it.

I thought that was the Security relay that was replaced.

Oh, so you're saying the same thing I am then: add a relay that's activated by the starter solenoid wire. Right?

Re: Manual swap, not starting

I'll attempt that today since we finally got some good weather. I need to buy some wire.
