Re: HID lights

I put a cheap set of 55W 6000K in my son, Nick's SVX, and do not see a differance from the 35W 6000K sets that I have installed.

In my own cars I usually go with a 5000K 35W Lava Lux set.
The exception is my Claret, with a 4300K, 35W Lava Lux set.

Older eyes need more lumins.

Re: HID lights

From the picture you can see the difference. I could tell the difference as soon as I sat in the car much more light. The 55w light is also not as white.

Re: HID lights

The one I gave you had no blue in it at all.
I think the bulb I gave you was a 55w 5000k.
So it would like like the 4300k 35 color.
So, 2 steps below your 35w 6000k.

Re: HID lights

According to DDM they say the 55w washes out the color. An 8000 K looks like a 35W 6000K . So I am thinking the one you gave me was a 6000K just has a slight yellow tint, not quite pure write.

Re: HID lights

I just came in the house ,I went to remove the hid and replace it. I found the plug came apart. ( reason the light stopped working). I will save installing the new ones when it warms up so I can take my time.

New HID head light low beams installed . Was 60 today so I said what the heck . I have not driven in total darkness yet with them . I drove into work at 7:am so can't really tell yet . They are pure white and if you catch it just perfect you catch a slight blue tint . See pictures and compare. with the ones I posted last month the #0207 was the last month 35 W 6000k

Re: HID lights

I bought a DDM kit and *should* have got the normal sized ballasts and the 9006/HB4 bulb... But not only does my ballast not fit the including brackets, but the bulb won't fit in my spare headlight housing...

Re: HID lights

Spare headlight housing? My bulb is very tight fit in the low beam socket.

I got the DDM bulb/ballast years ago same size and didn't have fitment issues.
