A great building block. I used them on an automatic spring winding machine that I built in the early 70s. 555s in a chain to form a controller to time and drive it. A pair of 555 to make a PWM to drive the wire spacing ram. One to set the frequency triggering the other to set the pulse width.

That part is easy. What he have to find is a IGBT which is big enaugh to handle all that current.

Hi Lazer,
Pretty sure you understand but will mention it the retarder is 3 times larger then needed so I don't need to operate all the coils on the retarder. Also I have 2 transformer 1 that out puts 12V DC and one that out puts 24V DC the input for them is 240VAC. Hope that helps. Have a great day. Tony
