crown and pinion

I'm also interested in the swap but I would like to keep the LSD on. Is it possible to instal the 4:11 crown and pinion in the diff. case?

Yes you can put a 4:11 ring and pinion gear into the SVX rear diff and keep the LSD, this is what I did on my 5-speed swap.

Changing the final drive gears to a lower ratio, would have to be the best and safest mod you could do. It will increase the acceleration and low speed performance of the SVX.

It will increase the torque at the wheels by about 18%, reduce the load on the gear box by 18%

I would recommend this mod for any body that is interested in improving the acceleration of the car.

Search the thread 'gear ratios'

Harvey.
P.s. your headed in the right direction.

if you do swap the gears in the diff., I would suggest that you take it to someone who knows about transmissions and gears. There are quite a few clearences that need to be set or the gears will wear quickly and make noise. I'd also suggest that you send the gears out to be swapped when you first start the conversion or you might be waiting for a while.
