new evo x 614 whp stock engine

as many people are learning the new evo x has been laying down some imrepssive numbers here is one prime example,

the engine,,cams, clutch, pistons, etc atc are all stock everything is bolt on

ETS GT35 Turbo Kit Makes 614whp On Bone Stock Motor!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We started off by running pump gas on the X and made 477whp at 22psi right off the street. We then drained the pump gas and put C16 into the tank.

After putting race gas in the tank we set the manual boost controller and we spiked to 32psi and tapered down to 29psi. The car made back to back 600whp runs! Here is the video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdbOKDNwBTo

Then we did another pull and made 614whp!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIePrGuxxYs

Modifications:

ETS Mitsubishi Evolution GT35R Turbo Kit w/ .63 A/R Exhaust Housing
ETS Mitsubishi Evolution 4.0" Intercooler Kit
ETS Mitsubishi Evolution V2 Exhaust System
ETS Mitsubishi Evolution Test Pipe
ETS Mitsubishi Evolution Turbo Kit Intake
RC1200cc Fuel Injectors w/ Resistor Box
Hallman ES Boost Controller
Walbro 255 Inline Fuel Pump w/ Stock Pump In Tank
Garage GT AEM Piggy Back ECU

The motor is bone stock! stock cams, stock clutch, stock everything!

The next set of mods will include a bigger turbo, cams and a bigger hot side

Re: new evo x 614 whp stock engine

i started my upgrade path already installing a new AEM intake, working on the exhaust and then the reflash,

those 3 basic mods are net average 400 hp @ 25 psi

pretty impressive with only $1,500 worth of work

stock evo x is around 300 hp @ 21 psi

Thats pretty cool and all... But you are still rocking a refridgerator box on wheels. Same thing with the Sti and the SRT-4. They are not performance cars, they a econoboxes with bolt ons...

No doubt they are quite impressive figures esp out of a four banger. I just never understood why these companies don't put this kind of technology into a nicer car like Nissan did with the new gtr... meh sorry, just an opinion

some fools drag race a heavy, highway cruising dentist's car.

depends on what your definition of "performance car" is.

Spoken from the grocery hauler on crack driver

A car bought to drive on the road is a road car. Who rallies their Sti to and from work?? Point being, with be able to make stupid power out of the newer engines, they should start putting them into proper sports cars

i agree that Subaru should make a nice sports car. in fact i was just eyeing up a really nice 911 C4S on Autotrader today, but its too soon for another car. i'm pretty sure my next car will be a sportscar ..... or an EVO X.

the new "Toybaru" sketches i have seen indicated it might actually be a decent-looking car, but apparently they are going to cut its balls off and offer it with less than 200hp. weaksauce.

you said STi's/EVO's aren't performance cars, and i'm saying they ARE - more so than the SVX and many other "sporty cars".

is that black one in the youtube yours??

you haven't posted any pics of yours as you promised!

that's impressive a tiny 2 litre engine can produce and stand so many horse powers out of it!!

is it reliable to run so many psi at stock?

can't wait to see the quarter miles time.

Point being their original design and body were never meant to be that. The imprezza base is an econo box and so is the lancer. Call it something else but it is still an imprezza/lancer in the long run. Same thing can be said for an SVX, it just took a lot more work because the modifications were not factory backed

yep, the SVX is not a sports car, either - its a grand touring car. sports cars are not that fat.

I agree 100%. Just remember, anytime you want your leggo stomped to little bits by a fatty, just give me a ring
