Re: wouldn't move in the snow
I'm going to edge towards a transfer issue on this one.. If the transfer clutches are borked, or if your solenoid's not engaging, your rear wheels would not be getting any torque, so if your front end is in snow and the tire is just spinning, your speedo will move but the car won't be going anywhere. You will not notice this during everyday driving since the front wheels will have traction.
Does your "power" light blink when you start the car?

Re: wouldn't move in the snow
Okay, blinking power light = trouble code in the transmission. There is an article in the how-to section on how to pull codes from the transmission computer, chances are your duty solenoid C is toast....

Re: wouldn't move in the snow
Yeah my vote would be for solenoid c... although you shouldn't rule out other things just yet. I dropped my extension housing 4 times (paid once) to replace the solenoid, check for pinched wires, etc then out of frustration I changed the TCU and all has been well ever since.
Since it sounds like your solenoid C is stuck on, putting in the fwd fuse probably won't matter. Changing the solenoid isn't hard, you could easily do it yourself if you have a nice garage or access to a lift. Also, there is a wealth of knowledge about this matter here on this forum. |
