I think I broke a parking brake cable.

I pulled on the parking brake and felt something snap. My guess is I broke a cable to one wheel. The brake still holds the car, so one wheel is definitely working.

I checked out the diagram for the cables, they look to be not too bad a job. Mainly getting the heat shield out from under the gas tank (which means removing the exhaust mid-pipe) and then removing the center console pieces to get inside there. Sound like I have the right idea? Winters coming, and snow just isn't as much fun without a working parking brake.

Re: I think I broke a parking brake cable.

Remove the center console to see which wheel is toast.

Re: I think I broke a parking brake cable.

I'm going to replace both of them. They're looking pretty nasty, all of the mounting clips have rusted to pieces, and the rubber is almost worn though from rubbing against the subframe.
