Re: 4.44, 4EAT Transmission #s

Yee Haww. Thanks. I just made a call about a potential donor part, and this is the list I was going to ask about next. Great Minds, I guess.

This should make it easier to find the correct transmission.

Re: 4.44, 4EAT Transmission #s

Are there also known numbers that we can use to ident the proper Differential / Carrier Assemblies?

Thanks

Re: 4.44, 4EAT Transmission #s

I think I found one that will work, I was just wondering if anyone knew about it first.
I spoke with the owner of the 98 forester parts car. He doesn't "think" it has the external filter, and he can't find the manufacture date.
He got me the # it is TZ103ZJ1AA-L1. That is very similar to one on the list
TZ103ZJ1AA -thickasxthieves, (Note this is from a 98 Forester)Anyone know about the -L1? I guess worse case scenario is I drive an hour to check it out and find it to be a phase 2.
Thanks in advance for the help.

When I was recently buying the one for my car, I was told by SVXFiles that first part was the only number you needed to match and that the number after the dash didn't matter. So yes that one will work.

I see that list has not been updated for a while. Can someone check this number please, and if it isn't working, then can I use the starter off this 94 Impreza? TZ102ZX3BA - G7 They just too nice to let go of.

If I can remember I'll check this number with Subaru on Monday,
however there has been a change in personnel, so they might not be able to find out.

Re: 4.44, 4EAT Transmission #s

Whats the deal about the starter?
If it is from an automatic Impreza, then if you are installing it in an automatic SVX, then, sure, it will fit.

Thank You. Starter is in an auto, and I was just thinking about it in case the tranny cant be used.

I am hoping I can use the Tranny / Rear end to fix my problem.

BTW, using an impreza transmission from that era will not end well for you. You will be left very frustrated after a few months, or less, when that transmission fails behind the EG33.

Re: 4.44, 4EAT Transmission #s

Thanks Nate. My original tranny has made it to 287k but i had a trusted shop look at it, and 2nd is broke somewhere. The buildup will run me 2100, and we really want to keep it, but that's hard to swallow right now. I showed this guy the write up's on the network that longassname outlined, and it is the same package local for me. In the mean time, I will pull the starter off this Imp, as it seems I may have that problem also. If the budget would hold, I would have it built by a group guru. But I suppose it will stay parked for now.
