What size tire?

What size tires do I need for the proper height on some 17x8 STi BBS's?

Thanks

Get some 18's fool, and then you can be cool.

Yeah no help from me, just a bump.

I'm pretty sure I'm running 225 45 17 on mine. 225 50 17 is too big though

225/45 17 RE070 is what comes on them. Stick with that or maybe consider a 245/40/17.

best tire size?

The 225/45/17 is real close

225/50-16 Overall Diameter 24.86

225/45/17 Overall Diameter 24.97

225/50-16 Circumference 78.09

225/45/17 Circumference 78.45

With your current 225/50/-16… if your speedometer now reads 65… with the 225/45-17 it will read 65.29

The tire width for both tires sizes is the same… 8.86

I'm with Keith on this selection.

Standard size on the SVX rims would be 225/50/16. Maintaining the rolling radius while growing the rim part means going down 5% per inch. So:

225/50/16 ~ 225/45/17 ~225/40/18

Going to a wider tire at 235 or 245 is seductive I know, but the ride will be wallowy on bends. Handling will be tighter on stock width or even slightly narrower at 215 like the factory did with the '97s.

Try a tire calculator. Stay within 3% of deviance from stock.

I have 18s. They pop Easy. just my 2 cents

IMO ride quality on 18's is not good.

I have 225/45/17 rubber on my 17's. My 16's look... small on my SVX. I plan to go back to 17's in the near future.
