Hopefully getting a Sub and AMp

Well I was wondering I want to purchase this
Amp and Sub combo
And have them install it, now, the question I have is will I also need a new stero or will the stock one work, I don't wanna replace it becuase it works well and well I use the Tape player for my MP3 player but If I had to purchase one I will.

I'll sell you my two 12" JLs with a 1600w PowerAcoustic amp for $150. Who's Magnum?? I've never heard of them.

To run an amp/sub with the stock stereo you will probably need a high-low converter (also called a line output converter) unless the amp has high-level inputs. Basically it changes the high-level speaker signals from the rear speakers into a low-level (RCA) signal.

Not the best solution for sound clarity, but it's the only option without swapping decks.

mmm...subs...Took a ride today in my friends Civic that has about 1000 watts of bass. Makes me want a new stereo system. The only thing is I don't really want an extra 100 or so pounds in the back of my car. I don't need any more weight than I already have.

Consider the extra weight in the trunk as giving the car better weight distribution.
(I didn't know that Trojan made car audio...)

High = speaker wire
Low = RCA cables

Have you searched the "How to Docs" yet?

On second thought, I dont think theres anything in there about a amp or subs.
I just installed a amp and 2 10's in mine. I bought the amp install kit at a place that installs car stereos. You might be able to find the same thing on line. If you going any higher than 600w, get 4 or 6guage wire and make sure it has a inline fuse which gets put in by the battery.
I've heard that others have ran the power thru the firewall thru a grommet located under the brake booster. I could be wrong about the location, but I could not find anything in that vicinity. Instead, I ran it thru the drivers side wheel well. I was installing a tranny cooler at the same time, so it was very convienent. Right next to the battery theres a whole bundle of wires that go thru the fender well and then back into the firewall under the windshield. But if you look down where the door jamb is, you will see where the airbag wire goes thru, There just happens to be another post for your wire to go thru. I used a screwdriver and punched a hole in it, sprayed a little lube and the 6 gauge went righ thru. It will come in right where the kickplate is. Pull up the door threshold and you will see a clear plastic cover over the vapor return lines. You can pull it away some and push the wire down into it, going all the way back. Theres one screw in the back, remove it soe you can get the wire under the plastci the rest of the way. Then route it under the back seat and into the trunk.
Once I figure out how I was going to run it, it took me about 10min.
Now the RCA lines are a different story. Keep them away from your power wires, always. If not, the stereo will buzz/hum, you dont want that.
Follow the directions in the How to Docs about pulling the OEM unit out. This took me the most time, I really struggled to get mine out, it was pretty tight. Take your time, or things will get buggered up. Run the RCA jacks under the center console. I didnt pull anything up, I was able to stuff them under and out of sight except where they come out the very back. But theres only a couple of inches where they show and theres probably someway or something that will hide them.
My sub box is a perfect fit. I got lucky, I didnt even measure it before I bought it
I still have about 7in in between the box and back seat. Dont put the speakers against anything, they dont like that.
I'm waiting to get a pocket to complete my install, but everything is working great. Pics coming.

Heres a few pics of the install. I didnt do a "How to", guess I should have. If you have any questions about it, dont hesitate to ask.
I still need to clean up the wiring in the trunk, I wanted to drive the car to test the tranny cooler

You could also mount your amp on the back of the seat. thats what i did on mine and ran all the wires under the carpet looks clean i have pisc on cardomain but i have since then rearranged them and hid my in line driver behind the panel in the trunk. i have mine this way because i drag here and there and take out the back seat and sub so i can quickly disconnect everything hassle free.

I think this will be a perfect time to make an How to on Amp and Subs >.> Thank you and My friend said the hardest part was getting the power wire from the battery to the back. I was going to have the store install it but they were for the lack of better words dicks when talking to me. They treated me like I was retarded and thought I didn't know anything about how it is hooked up. I understand the concept of what to do, but it is different on every car. They said I had to buy their amp kit for like 100 and other wires when I can get them for less then half of that. The total cost was about 350 for them to install an 150 dollar sub and amp combo, that meant I was paying them more for install the the sub and amp. Also I think I found the stereo I want from Crutchfield.com

Do you happen to have a picture of where you run the power cable from the battery to the back? and where the wire are set so I can have some idea ?
