Colin McRae dead..............
The news broke earlier and was just confirmed that Colin McRae and his 5 year old son were killed in McRae's private helicopter. Colin was piloting the helicopter at the time and also on board was a family friend and another child. He is survived by his wife and 9 year old daughter.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the McRae family and the family of the other two passnegers. Team Subaru lost a high class driver and the world lost a high class person.

I am really saddened to hear this terrible news about Colin and his son, and also his friend and child who died with them.
My condolences to both families, and to all their friends and colleagues. A few years ago here in Ireland we lost Bertie Fisher, another rally legend, in a similar self flown helicopter accident near his home. Another tragedy hard to believe. These guys are so skilled at driving you would begin to wonder if private planes and helicopters may actually be seriously dangerous. I know a lot of insurances do not cover injuries or death for "non-scheduled" flight accidents. The statistics must be loaded against you if the insurance people won't cover the risk. R.I.P.

RIP Colin, his son, and friends. I don't watch too much rally races but I remember in the Xgames when he flipped his WRX and still ended up winning.(I think that was him)

What a tragedy. Peace to the families of those all involved in the accident.
Just to think after reading an article in 0-60 magazine about the helicopter he owns and the new company he has started which will be producing a kickass rally car, this happens.
