Cylander not firing, which one? (Now with pictures!)

Ok, one of my cylenders is not firing, i'm not sure which one. I'm not sure why either. I would assume it's one of the wires, being as we have had a TON of rain here, and they look rather old. But from what i can tell, there's 2 parts to each wire. I figure it might be a good time to replace the plugs as well, as i'm pretty sure they're factory. Could someone shed some light on the wire thing, if i get new wires, who can i get them from, and how difficult they are to replace? Thanks.

Disconnect the fuel injectors one at a time, which ever one has no change with the injector unplugged is the bad cylinder.

Since one cylinder is not firing, the most likely problem is a bad coil pack. So, instead of wasting time removing fuel injectors, I would start testing coil packs.

And hold onto your hat when you check prices on new coil-packs!! The coil-on-plug design explains the "wimpy" appearing wires, that are denoted by the color of the plug opposite the coil (3 different lengths). Good advice on pulling one injector at a time to nail it.

Fixed! I "borrowed" a coil pack from my 92 teal and put it on my 94 daily driver until i can get a replacement wire. Anyone have a middle wire, green cap, driver side they can spare? I checked cost, $110 at the local shop, much more than i was hoping for, however old tom sort of prepped me for the cost...

Good to see you got the problem fixed! If you can find a pretty good "slightly" used coil that would be the best way to go, I also suggest trying to get a full set of 6.

I wasnt talking about removing injectors, but unplugging them. Its much simpler to find which cylinder is not firing that way than to pull coils(once you've found the bad cylinder then pull the coil).

full set of 6... at $110 a piece. I think i'll wait for the others to fail personally... . But yeah that's how i figured it out. I just unplugged each injector one at a time, and if hte idle got worse, i knew that one was good. Ended up being cylander 5 that had a bad wire. Pulled the plug out, and it was in immaculate condition, looked brand new, but i wanted to rule out fowled plug.

No I mean a full set of good slightly used coils, because it probably wouldnt hurt to change all 6 at once (and then you'll probably have newer coils in there unless you get an old set or your current coils are new).
