Thanks again Earl

A couple of days of great company, great food and great cars was just what the doctor ordered.

Who's going to post pictures?

Thanks for a great weekend - good cars, good drives, good company, good location, good food, good stargazing. Thanks to the folks who let me ride shotgun, I hope Sue forgives me. Nice to see some out-of-staters as well as the regular locals.

Oh, I found out that the street named "Egg and I" is named after a book by a local author. Wikipedia: "The Egg and I, first published in 1945, is a humorous memoir by American author Betty MacDonald about her adventures and travails as a young wife on a chicken farm on the Olympic Peninsula." Go know.

I'll be posting pics on my pbase site when I get back from Israel at the end of the month. Chris might shove 'em in my locker for me before then, since he was kind enough to download them off my memory card. I wanna see other peoples' pics too.

Smile Top 5 cars people should have bought, but didn't

Earl,
It took some time, but I found the blurb. It's just a box within the article, The CAR 100, CAR magazine, April 2003.

Top 5 cars people should have bought, but didnt.

1. Honda NSX, Useability with sublime handling....
2. Subaru SVX, Better than the contemporary XJS....
3. BMW M Coupe, Roofed Z3 on steroids....
4. Skoda Octavia RS, Makes cracking use of VW's turbo....
5. Fiat Multipla, "You should see the front"....

I'll get the article to you.
Thank you; again, for another outstanding meet.

Mark

Exclamation Durn right!

I have a new need to post: my a/c is in the process of being repaired and I needed to see if anybody has what I need: SUBARUPARTS.com doesn't even have a screen for 1992-1993 SVX a/c systems!

It is the pressure sensor that screws into the hard line that goes to/from the condensor to the accumulator(?), the cylindrical deally do-bob (vs. Dabob!) that has the sight window on it...

Anybody got one? What about R-12 friendly O-rings for that line?

Cheers!

p.s. What is the e-mail verification group? Does (did) it have anything to do with me changing from aol dial-up to Comcast High Speed Internet?

It was not on your side, so the provider didn't do it. I don't know how it got changed, but I guess it did.

As far as parts, I will do some looking for you. The O-Rings are not special as far as I know. You will probably want to convert to 134a. Chris did this before he came over. It is working great.

If you updated your email address in your profile on this website, that's exactly what happened.

Whenever you do that, the board automatically will send an email to you and ask you to click a link to verify that it is a valid email address.

If you never click that link, what happened to you, is what will happen.

Question It all works great now!

Must've missed the link, somehow...

I thought the O-rings were different R-12 vs. 134A? That was the reason you swapped them when you convert: the guy that worked on the SVX about a month ago put in a pound of R-12 but MISSED the problem at the switch! He's already drained out the R-12 that was so recently installed and will get me going with a full charge (actually a "no-charge" full charge !!!) once I find a switch!

Am I not correct in thinking that R-12 O-rings are different from the ones you change to for 134A? If they are not "special" (as in Subaru part numbers) are they just the old-type R-12 O-rings? Size?

If you look on Subaruparts.com for 1995 or so they do show this hardline with A switch (I think it is the same type/design line) but shows three O-rings included: two at the top & bottom of the line and it LOOKS like another one at the switch...

My switch threads in, don't think it even had an O-ring. Also, as I wrote earlier, no exploded diagram for 1992 model years.

Help!

I replaced my o-rings with the same type, and I have not had any leaks or problems for several years.
