Im having a really hard time finding a Trans where i live. No one around here will rebuild them either, can anyone tall me a good place to go to get a new trans, or get it rebuilt? (Maine) also does anyone know if a automatic trans from a 2.5L would work in the SVX? Thanks for the help

Welcome to the site.

You can use any automatic from a Legacy or Impreza up to '98. But they all have a different final drive ratio than an SVX, so you'll need to also swap the rear differential.

Look around and you'll find all kinds of info on swapping tranmissions.

New Tranny?

Before I bought a "new tranny" I would check into Level10 in NJ for a very strong stock rebuilt one. Expensive but probably worth it if you plan on keeping the car forever.

If you are more concerned about speeds from light to light than overall performance---then go with a 4.44 replacement from another Subaru model. I love the stock gearing myself for our open roads. Just my opinion of course.
