4.44 Need Advice

I have a tranny, rear end and lots of help (thanks GreenMarine, lol) what else do I need to do the swap. Can I use stock shifter mechanism (lever). Also is the brake switch integrated with thrans, cuz mine is stuck. Thanks for the help

The swap is VERY straight foward minus swapping the rear diff. You use all the same parts as the stock tranny. Your parking brake issue is something unrelated

on a side note, i found some rims on ebay, stock R32 sized 16x6.5 5x114.3 +40 those should fit, right?

Those should fit, but they'd be an inch narrower than the stock wheels.

Correction, because the offset is about .5" further out and the rim is 1" narrower (.5" on each side) These rims will stick out the same amount as stock.

And the INSIDE of the wheel will be out about 1" farther.

So it will still be harder on the wheel bearings.

OK, so when you have the key on, and push the brake pedal, do you hear a click at your shifter?
You should.
And you should be able to feel the solenoid movement through the shifter.


btw, do your brake lights work?

sounds like your shift lock computer is borked... they go out all the time, any suby shift lock "should" work but try to find one on the network, they are easy to come by from 5mt swaps
