transmission acting strange.
so i have picked up my car from subary dealer today.
they have done: -complet trans flusch + new fluid. -replaced internal filter(streiner) i ask thech that was working on it about any metal on magnet and stuck in filter , he said there was nothing unusual for 106 k milage. i live 10 miles from them. when i start the car it was in manual mode so i depresed the button put reverse -ok put Drive -ok ,so i'm going home(few hills and turns) first i was suprised how smouthly it shifts(i thought it shifted)but then i realised it was stuck in 2nd gear(4000 rpm whed crouisng 80 mph, and 3000 rpm at 60 mph and couldnt feel any shifting,also when i took my foot of accelerator pedal rpm very fast dopped to 700 rpm)i thought it will kick in when it will get some preasurre.after about 5 miles nothing changed but i was able to put her into power mode . i decided to go hone and take someone in second car back with me to dealer. as i pull over at my house i saw little smoke from under the car and engine bay. after 10 minutes i was pulling of parking when i noticed 2 or 3 power blinks,shifted to D make 20 feet and turn the car off. when turned it on again- no power light blinking so put in D and go! 1 st, 2nd,3rd,4th it is ok now!made 5 miles test drive ,all good! someone have any idea what was that all about? continue
it is back again.
i sarted car this morning, no power light blinks, but was stuck in 2nd gear again. drowe her slowly for about 1 mile then stoped and turned engine off. went to grocery store for about 10 minutes. started car got 16 power light blinks this time but she started shifting ok. went back home turned car off and on after 1 minute -no power blinks. i dont know what this mean, i'm taking her back to dealer. they broke her they fix her. |

a little more
i repeated self diagnosis tests 3 times to check the codes on transmission (after geting 16 blinks on start up )and couldn't get eanything but continuosly blinking every 1/4 second i stoped counting them after 69 blinks

i did the diagnostic 3 times and could not get the code but dealer did and it is duty solen. they are gonna clear it and try driving the car tommorow morning when it will be cold (when engin and transmission is wormed up everything is ok) to see if that helped.

sounds like the flush may have stirred up some gunka nd stuck yoru duty solenoid...Good luck

How are you doing your diagnostic?....I had trouble the first time, but Earthworm confirmed with me that I had to use the shift lock feature and never touch the brake pedal... It worked for me to get my code.

BTW they were very polite and apologized for the trouble that they felt it was they foult. i'm not suprised since i know them(they also are servicing my wifes MURANO) and i can tell that Jones Subaru has very good-costumer service. so my baby is back on the road agein and i bet she cant weit to get her 60k service done in 2 weeks at SVXPERT shop in woodbury oh boy do i love to drive her |

Great to hear
From what I hear, having a transmission power flushed tends to stirr up all kinds of garbage. Ive heard some horror stories of trannies failing just after a service because of this. I wouldnt worry too much about it, but consider doing it youself next time, its no harder than changing the 710
