Crankshaft Pulley

WHat's the best price anyone's found on a crankshaft pulley? Subaruparts has them listed at 148.00 + shp. And, no, I'm not interested in an underdrive. This is for "Patience." My "stockboy" obsession. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the one piece stock size from the warehouse and it is great. Looks better and no chance of it separating for a third time.

If you go the junkyard route, you can use most any Subaru Legacy, or Impreza pulley. Take your old one with you for reference. You should be able to buy a salvage one for under $20.

Significant Technical Input
Or...

You could become a man's man and develop some upper arm strength - not just for steering but also for toting the battery to a wall socket every time you park. And quit complaining about the heat! A real man would just grab another beer. Geeeez.....

Fort Revor is a fine, fine place to get beer. Perhaps I'll move there.

I've got the upper arm strength. I'm just worried what the strain would do to my hemorrrhoids!

Oh well. I'm guessing it was about time for the pulley to go...after 240K miles.

I'd prefer to go new OE and no junkyard roullette for me.

Thank you all for your help...your sarcasm and your continued friendship. This place is still THE GREATEST!

Randy,
I have a stock pulley I replaced with an underdrive. It has 75000 miles off a 92.
You can have it for the s&h.

As do I, but does your E.T. have a stock pulley? If so use that one and put a one piece OE sized aluminium pulley on that one instead.

SubaruPartsGirl quoted me $140+ shipping, as I recall, but that was awhile back. Might be worth dropping her PM. My "local" Subaru dealership wanted $195 (full list price, revealed later in a thread here), with a three-hour round trip added, ensuring that they'll probably never get any business from me.

I tend to provide the dealer with a disclaimer in that sort of situation. I let them know full well that, if they want to charge me full price, they're simply not going to get my business. Sometimes they get the picture and make a few bucks, sometimes they don't.
