Trying to remember a movie

There was a Stephen King mini series on TV some decade or so back. Maybe longer. It started with the accidental release of some plague from the military, with the background music being "Don't fear the Reaper".

The devil was involved, (the real one, not Bush), and they nuked Las Vegas at the end of the mini series.

Does anybody remember the name of this mini series? I'm trying to find it for my collection.

That would be "The Stand".

That was my favorite King to screen translation.

Doubt I'll ever forget it.

Na, my mom is a big fan. So I grew up with the book in the house and sitting through the mini series when it came to TV (I got to stay up late to watch it). To this day, I still get freaked out with Pet Cemetary.

I liked Pet Cemetary, but I go along with Nikfu on The Stand. It was definately on the tip of your seat type adaption. I remember I couldn't wait until the next part was coming on.

There's a new sealed 2 DVD set on eBay, but the seller seems to take 3 months to ship. Thinking about it, but will probably try Best Buy.

Pet Cemetary, the movie, wasn't as good as the book. Kujo, the movie was better than the book. It, the movie not near as good as the book.

I think the only thing he did that really "bothered" me was Salem's Lot. We're talking 70's for that one. I couldn't finish watching the movie and I never picked up the book. Gave me friggin night mares.

I'll have to check that one out. I liked Saw and Saw II. I want to see Hostel. The worst was Rob Zombie's House of 10,000 corpes. I can't watch it straight without taking a break. It's that gross.

i thought that was kind of a ripoff of Texas Chainsaw Massacre ..... group of lost smartass teens, crazy homicidal family, etc.

my buddy, who digs those type of movies, said Rob Zombie's followup to that (Devil's Rejects) was pretty gruesome. i have it on DVD but haven't watched it yet.

It was, but man it was demented. The part where she ends up in the basement and the one demented guy is doing the open chest surgary on the guy while he's awake was bad. I have been to about 9 autopsys or so and wouldn't want to be alive let alone awake for that. Gross has taken over for real scare these days.

I only got to see the first one. If it wasn't like $80 for the set at Best Buy I'd pick it up. Maybe it's less now.

Just so happens I use both, and Azureus is better for vids, Limewire for music.
