Question After-accident Questions

No, no accident on my SVXi and that's why it's belonged to here.

A friend of mine had an accident two days ago(thursday midnite)
in her little SUV by a chevy campact car. She got hit at the traffic
light junction to her front driver's side fender and wheel about 30-40mph.
Luckily not to the driver's door.

Air bags were not deployed at that time. I haven't seen her car yet and
I'm going to the towing company to see her car on Monday. Perhaps take some pictures.
I was told her airbags were deployed(how come???) during
the process of towing to the shop. So the windshield was gone as well.
I haven't seen her car but I'm told the car was not really driveable...

Doctor said she was okay and she was out from the hospital yesterday
morning.

Questions:

Now she is complaining that she feels the pain all over her body and her
head. What kind of physics is in there? The impact force? How do we
explain this? Any suggestion to get her feel better/recovered fully?
(No physical injury or anything)

Any knowledge given is appreciated. Thanks.

yes.

a large, several-thousand pound vehicle just slammed into hers.

i'm not a doctor, but narcotics would probably help. i'd recommend she see an actual medical doctor, because i'm just a fool on the internets offering advice while under the influence of a few beers.

you're welcome. in all seriousness, its common for people in accidents to not feel any pain at the time (because of the post-accident adrenalin), but they may still have serious injuries that they will feel later. she needs to see a doctor.

Something like .5 G's for every 10 miles per hour from the vehicle that is moving through.

Learned this when I hit a stopped, lights out vehicle at 35-40 about 25 years ago, on a pitch night.

Perpindicular force moving thru.

See a chiropractor.

I was lucky enough to bash my head onto the soft steering wheel so I didn't get the whole whiplash effect,
but,
forces like that and especially from the side can jerk your whole spine out of whack.

She could also have some light internal bruising that was indetectible by the doc.

She might have a bit of whiplash going on. If thats the case, a chriropractor visit or two is in order. Another thing that may help is massage theropy. Not the type some random person would give you at a Spa or something, but an educated massage theropist. alot of the massages take tension off of the muscles and tendons and all that good stuff and help heal a bit

Thank you, people for your replies.

In fact, her left arm and ear were hurt. But, she is getting better......
She could get out to do some short distance shopping on black friday also... Maybe shopping can cure some pain...

That little SUV might be in a decision of being totalled. Guess I will
try to help if I can save teh little truck...

Good days.
