Are they the ones that have a crack in one of the rims?

How goes the A610?

Cheers

James

No, this is another set. I saw those about a week ago and didnt think anyone would want them (although they did have the bolts).

A610 has sold so I have room for both Subarus in the garage now.

Cheers

Arthur

Smile Ebay alloys

Hi. Yes someone ( fool maybe !) did want the 4 alloys inc the cracked rim. My 95 M has very shoddy rims so will use the three good ones which are very good , plus as you say bolts on the car and get mine professionally refurbed.

Congrats!

I thought they were OK, Maineman, unless you needed a full set.

I have a spare set of three, and I am always on the lookout for a fourth. The original plan was to shod them with winter M&S tyres, and slap them on come bad weather.

The main flaw in the plan, it is always too mild here in Ireland to need snow tyres.

{Hey, I know you Brits drink a frothy concoction called mild, but here in Ireland, when we say mild, it means it's raining }

Did I ask you this before Maineman, are you from the US?

I see the other very clean set of rims went for pretty high money.

Joe

Smile Hello to you in Ireland !

In the UK my friend just let you filter the rain out for us !! Wheels are good given that mine are very scabby and peeling so three will go straight on. The one with the split I will have to look at but probably scrap as Al alloy not easy to repair but the centres and bolts are better than mine !

Perhaps should get over there for a real pint of Guiness ?

Very pleased with the SVX, UK car 95k miles and as sweet as a nut, just a few rattles from the heat shields.

Cheers , from the rainy Midlands !

David

PS Maineman is from my football suffering ! Maine Road = former hallowed turf of my beloved Man City !!! Not geographic but nice try !

MaineRoadMan!!

Hi David

Any time, come over here for a good pint of Guinness.

[Note: there are two n's in Guinness. The frothy nd and the bitter nd ]

I know what you mean by tatty. The salty English roads played havoc with my '93 UK car. The rims are actually pretty good, but they have been resprayed.

The JDM one I sold, the wheels were original on that. The paint wore from me trying to clean them, but the paint never flaked back from the sharp edge of the spokes. That seems to be the fate of all the UK rims I have seen. In truth, the original paint job was not good enough. Penny pinching meant that the rear and inner surface of the rims did not get the full paint job, only the front face. This meant that the salt eventually got under the paint surface at the sharp edge of the spoke.

Every spray painter knows that the least amount of paint is always on sharp edges. Considering how expensive the rims were when new, it's hard to figure why they did not spray them all over.

Reckon you got a bargain, even for three wheels on your wagon.

Joe

Angry Three wheels on my wagon !

I'll take the Guinness lol. Wheels from Ebay were good and the cracked rim not too bad and may be serviceable but is a front wheel so no risks !!!

That said has some t**t clip my rear wing in the rain the other night ( thanks Royal Mail , your man's foot " slipped off " the brake). So one black SVX with a little dent and Peugeot silver paint along the wing until they pay for it

Looking for a white SVX to go with our black one. Anyone got one ?

Cheer, David

We have yet to run out of Guinness over here. You are welcome over any time. We will try and put a dent in the stocks.

Depending how much magresium is in the alloy mix, very lightweight rims are prone to shatter. Although ours are light enough for the size, I can't imagine them shattering. Nevertheless, you are correct. Don't put it on the car at all, the risk is too high.

There was a very nice car for sale in Devon, looked good. It was withdrawn from eBay, sold in advance of auction. Might be worth your while contacting the eBayer, see if it is still available.

Thumbs up Top Of The Day To You , Joe !

Hi, had enough dents in last week. At least Royal Mail are coughing up to repair my black beauty !

Saw the white SVX, thought about a bid and then it was withdrawn ! Ebay oh Ebay ! Stick with our 95 M black UK car as she runs very sweet.

Another white one listed 106k miles needs a bit of work but if it goes for say £2k may be worth looking at. Got to lay off as having a disc operated on , in lower back , OUCH !!!

Hold that Guinness ( now with two n's lol !! ).

Cheers

David

I don't usually like white cars David, even though I currently own one.

However, I do think the pearlie SVX is a thing of beauty.

Sorry to hear about your back, hope you get sorted without too much pain or grief.

Joe

Angry It Becomes Black And White

So goes the Stranglers song ! Both the white and black S reg SVX's were pulled from Ebay auctions . If I find a good white one i'll take it.

Had back done ! Off work with clips in and disc chopped ! Like it or limp it , and no driving for 3 weeks !!!! No SVX nor my beloved Beemer M5 either ! Then these frosty mornings dont suit 400 bhp of rear wheer drive too well lol ! But the SVX well.....

Cheers

Glad you got fixed up, David.

I would have thought the SVX is a bit low for getting in and out of with a bad back, but you are not too badly off with an M5 for a back-up vehicle.

Take care.

Joe
