$17.82 Radiator Cap

Rather than pay the ridiculous sum of $17.82 for a radiator cap I went to the local Auto Zone and got a radiator cap for the SVX at $5.99. Replaced the cap in the parking lot and on the way home (which I never did make) car over heated. I drove it off the highway and parked it, I returned with the old cap and anti-freeze and found the pressure blew the upper radiator hose off. Later in day I went to Subaru and paid the list price less a discount. A generic part may work fine on a chevy or ford but Dont take that chance on a SVX.

I tottally agree. Generally with the cooling parts anyway this is true. Have you seen the small the aftermarket thermostats are?
