My engineering master...piece of s***

Just made this ski vise so I don't have to buy onea those stupid overpriced swix ones. I'm thinking of starting a business. Anyone want to buy one of my custom ski vise's? I still have another boot I haven't completely ruined .

They're probably only worth $20.00 at most.

Excuse my northern boarder ignorance, but what is a "ski vice"?

How did you...

uh...

hmmm.

Well I don't know what to say about that. Except that I would shoot myself if that happened to my brand new World Cup boots.

Good luck finding nice new boots. I suggest ebay. That's how I got all my new gear. In fact, they probably have the Swix Vise too.

I've got 2 other pairs. The ones I cut up are 4 years old and had over 150 days on them. They went out in a blaze of glory, other boots should be so lucky.

Shadow, what kind of boots did you get?

Head World Cup CF. I was just going to take a pic with my cam, until I realized Mandi has it right now. Here's a pic from Head, these are the World Cup TR...only difference between the TR and CF is that the CF comes with interchangeable cuffs (plastic or CF), and a higher flex adjustment option. I think the flex index is 8.5-10.5.

I can't wait to get in these things.

They'll be locked into Head Cyber XP 100 skis...i'm told they are explosive out of turns, because of the TPS piston. Also, I finally got to order the Marker Piston Control 1200ti bindings to round out the package. Got it all off ebay, wicked price. Check it out if you need new gear, lot's of great sellers in the ski section.

Those look great. I'm actually sellin a few ski things on there myself, need any race equipment? Been using Nordica Dobermann WC 150s, they're incredible boots but not so much for all-moutain use. Just got a pair of Lange 120LF boots and a booster strap is on the way...these should remedy the situation. Also just ordered a pair of volkl 6 stars off ebay with the marker 1200 piston which has unfortunetly left me without a dime to my name, they should be worth it though. How much did you get those boots for? Any idea how that flex index correlates to other brands?...what's the highest their index goes? AHH!!! All this ski talk is makin' me antsy, I wanna go skiing NOW.

Thanks, but I got all my equipment already. Only took me from the end of last season until yesterday to get it all, but it was worth it for the savings.

Head Cyber XP100Ti Railflex (182cm)
Retail: $799
Ebay: $196

Head World Cup CF Boots (30.5)
Retail: $599
Ebay: $162

Marker Piston Control 1200Ti
Retail: $379
Ebay: $135

Oh and some scott poles that I picked up at Sports authority during their end of season clearance last year.

I figured that Head's Index would be industry standard. Never really thought about that. The brand new 2005 Heatfit World Cup Ti boots go to 11.5, that's the stiffest i've seen from Head.

I thought it was funny that this thread came up, when I read it, I had just gotten back from a friend's place where we were planning a ski trip to Vail in february. So yeah, i'm ready to ski NOW too.
