Here is my problem with Supra's. There is a guy here in Idaho that is putting 934WHP to the ground on race gas. This car looks clean and runs clean as well. His only problem with trying to manage all this power is that he cannot save a driveshaft for the life of him. He has gone to the local dragstrip countless times and has never gotten a decent run because he can't seem to keep the driveshaft intact for more than one pass down the 1/4.

Hopefully I'll be able to get a pic soon.

Breaking tires loose in the 1-2 upshift is not difficult for most high powered rwd cars, but the 2-3 upshift is much harder. I'm not saying it's difficult, just not easy for most rwd cars... (as the majority don't come with 400+hp from the factory! )

i think any car with over 900hp is going to break things if it isn't built up to handle the power - that's not a problem exclusive to a Supra.

a supra we built, 800rwhp consistently and has never broken the driveshaft on the dyno or track or street
you just need to make sure you have the right componenents. If you keep replacing the stock cv then no **** its not gonna hold the power! Do it right or do it 50 times in this case... The tranny is not a stock getrag unit, its beefed a little as well, but stock rearend etc.
Pics are of the wheels we pushed it around on while finishing, it rolls on HRE 3 pieces now

The customer drives the car on a daily basis during the summer, has over 60k on the single setup/tranny and runs 116 all the time

like i said those are just the wheels we pushed it around on The body kit is a true 9 piecee TRD widebody 3000gt kit(it comes with the wing). Like i said in my last post(if you read closely ) the car rides on HRE 3 peices costing in the thousands. May be a bitc much but if you ever see the car in person is a heart stopper. The paint is like 4 colors mixed together. Yellows and greens, its GORGEOUS.....

Phil that Supra looks HOT! The 'authentic' TRD3000GT wide-body kit is cool and I've never seen one on a USDM Supra TT before. Sweet!!!

Over priced because it holds up well, and doesn't really have any major faults. It's a well balanced car in all respects.

Under powered? Not really. Close to 300hp in a car of that curb weight and with that suspension is pretty entertaining.

As for 'looking' like an exotic, it's because they are. 100% aluminum frame and body. Incredible high strung engine. Durable. Beautiful. Reliable.

i have driven all of those car had had the option to buy all except the NSX.

i bought the svx not because of performance but because its the most balenced car fot under 10 grand. awd flat six 150mph top speed. auto trans (im a repo man so i drive alot and need to mash and go if someone runs) combined with my driveing ability id rather be in a subaru than any other car. ive been in over 100 hi speed chases with some fast runners and no one has out run me.

i have repoed and driven over 1000 cars. many are really nice sports cars and none with the blend of livability, drivability, performance and all season use of the svx. but if you want a fast weekend only car a supra, RX-7 and the sort are for you.
