Unhappy SVX for sale

It is with the deepest and most profound regret that my beloved SVX will have to go.

Situation is: my g/f and I want to go to Europe to work (she is not a Euro citizen so has to go before 30 - I am so can toddle off there whenever)
but

that requires such things as airfares and *gasp* savings given the shocking exchange rate between Australia and the UK.

Also, will be likely that will be gone for 18 months or more so there is no point having the SVX sitting here

*crying and wailing*

So......

Naturally, would be good to go to someone who appreciates it as much as I do.

Quick details are:

1992
Anthracite grey (paint code 212) - very very dark grey, not many around
74,000km
Full Subaru service history (including all receipts)
transmission cooler
new transmission went in at about 60,000km - I bought it at 62,750km - I have had it just over 12 months
immaculate condition
rego till August 2004
rego plate (NSW) - 'SVX-33H'
Everything works (window switches, sunvisors etc etc etc)

Asking $22,500 negotiable (within reason!
)

So, if you know of anyone looking, please send them my way - 0418224892

Sydney, NSW - so a bit hard to ship to USA!!

Rest assured I still am a fanatic and will be looking to purchase another one when I return

Thanks

James

James being a practical sort I am not sorry to read the news.

My son is over there now and my grandson has not long returned. You can purchase another SVX later, but the experience you are trading for has to be gained now. Go for it, go the great OE.

Regards, Trevor.

Hi James

Mixed emotions.

Regret, obviously, that you are having to part with your car. This is tempered by the notion "Once an SVXer.....". So I do not expect you will be leaving the fold.

Pleasure, both in the knowledge you are doing the Right Thing, and your work plans may well mean I can get to meet up with you and Cassie sometime soon.

Wishing you both the best of luck with the sale and with your plans for the future.

Joe

PS Don't forget Europe is not without SVXs for sale [read the current Car magazine], and the Lotto could happen.

There is a lhd with 5mt on eBay recently (several times) hasn't sold, probably because it is a left-hooker. Could be ideal for you after your move. Just keep checking www.ebay.co.uk

Does this mean another at the 2004 meet?

I guess this explains the long quiet
Just wondering though, if you're going to the UK, could you take it with you?
Just think, legal 140 kph
Besides you can always live in a caravan
Best of luck,
Arthur

I have seen members come and members go.

I have seen long-time owners sell their cars and it has made me extremely sad.

This time, however, I may actually cry.

Guys, what can I say... thanks for the thoughts and words of advice

In answer to the various questions/comments, I have been a bit quiet here due to being worked to death at the moment on top of my postgrad study -r- keep Friday 26 September free Arthur since we will have a pizza night/run - a fellow called last night who wants to replace his identical 250,000km 1992 SVX (same colour as mine) so he is coming on 27 Sept to have a look.

The plan is to head over there early next year - I'm selling it now since the market here is a bit strange - can be a heap of people looking and no cars or lots of cars and no one looking

Hence, better to set the ball in motion now.

The plan of attack is to do a quite scoot around Europe then settle in London for a while (this is all premised on us being able to actually get work over there - the market seems to be bad for incoming lawyers) so will most likely be in a one room flat with me hugging a picture of SVX33H and rocking back and forth, crying while Cassie, her patience exhausted, grabs a frying pan

If jobs etc work out, I would give serious thought to getting an SVX over there.....and taking it on an autobahn blast/Nurburing run - but all comes down to $$$

And I will most definitely be stopping by Joe's place!!

I'll let you know how things go

Cheers

James

You'll survive all right.

Just come back from London, cleaning out a flat that a friend has sold.

Looking forward to seeing you. Anything I can do to help from this side, PM me.

You're making the right choice James - Sell the car and keep the girl. The running costs may be higher but the driving experience is so much more enjoyable.

Drop us an email if you find yourself near Heathrow airport and want to meet up.
