on my trip from the twin cities back to Madison, plus a little around town driving, I got 22mpg. Not too bad. In my neon I'd get 27-35, so it isn't a huge drop at all. Course...the premium costs money. Oh well. THIS CAR RULES!

PS: Want to get better MPG on the highway? PUMP UP YOUR TIRES! At about 45psi they ride kinda crappy but your MPG goes up. Then once you get to your destination let some air out til they're back at 35-40.

My altitude is about 6900 ft above sea level, and my daily 15-mile commute is about 4 miles through a housing area, then 8 miles on a highway, then about 3 miles through a city. Speed through the housing area and city is 35 - 45 mph, on the highway it's 70 - 85 mph depending on traffic. I average about 20 - 21 miles per US gallon.

On the highway, it's been 27 - 29 miles per US gallon, driving 70 - 80 mph. Windows up or down, air conditioning on or off hasn't seemed to make much difference.

I use the highest octane I can find, which around here seems to be 91 or 92.

A few weeks ago I used my car for business trip. It was about 400 miles round trip, the longest I have taken at one time with just highway driving. The car got 27.7 mpg. I am very happy with that.
