car wont start, i cut some wires ooops...

the other week i tried to cut some wires to remove anti theft tracking device on my car... the previous owner had it installed but it was never activated while i had the car.. i wanted to remove the little chip that sat in the fromt bumper and the extra wires that stuck out of my ash tray... i cut the wires carefully to be sure i didnt cut anything extra... but being a beginner i dont think i did everything right.. before i began cutting wires ..the car has been sitting in the garage for 2 weeks without starting the engine.. after i cut the wires i started the engine. and it wouldn't work.. the lights come on when i put the key in the ignition,, but it sounds like the fuel pump isn't pumping gas to feed the engine.. any input? I put about a gallon of gas to be sure it wasn't on empty since my gas gauge is broked,,, but still the engine struggles to catch start.. and never does

Re: car wont start, i cut some wires ooops...

The device you removed may have had a fuel pump interrupt. If that's the case, you need to find the two fuel pump interrupt wires and twist them together.

This goes without saying, but given the overall tone of the previous post, I must advise you to not start twisting random wires together in an attempt to do this.

Your best course of action may be to reinstall the device you removed, and take it to a professional shop to have it removed.

how was it wired in? if they used those piggyback connectors without interrupting the lines then they could just have a break as a result. you can put power directly to the pump (access in back of trunk) and see if it starts to narrow down your search.
