Key code help asap please

Is there anyway to find the key codes to my keys? I tried a dealership and they called subaru and they had nothing...i lost my original key so I cant copy it and I tried looking on the passanger side lock cylinder and nothing.

So any help would be very helpful thanks! Cus im up **** creek without a padle right now

Check just for Ha Has if the PO wrote it in the owners manual . My dealer did it in mine .

When you say you looked on the pass. side lock cyl, what do you mean exactly? Sure you looked in the right place?

I looked everywhere I could see from the inside door panel...the only thing I saw writing wise was the made in japan....so Idk if that is where I was supposed to look it was midnight and cold so I was in a hurry too lol

Were you able to see the actual lock cylinder itself? (The part that the key goes in from the outside.)

Cheap enough Cost me 30 to get them to jimmy my door when i locked my key inside . I now have 5 keys for the car. ONE is in my wallet 0ne in the house one hidden on the car and one in the garage .

well he came by after about 2 hours when he said it would be an 1 but he took the cylinder out of the trunk and used that to make the key cost $160 i couldn't believe it so now im broke with a new car key

p.s. I WILL BE MAKING COPIES!

everyone one was quoting about the same i called 3 other places and they all said between $100-$180 so i just picked the last guy i called.

Shamus McFeeley- oh and he said that keys back then didn't have any codes to them which is probably why the dealers didn't have the codes...i thought it was a little odd but im not a locksmith so

He's wrong. The keys have codes and so did Subaru's in the 80's. If you still have the original key with the code or the selling dealer recorded it properly, any Soob dealer can cut a new key without copying.
