how to measure the firing advance while driving?

Does somebody knows a method to monitor the firing advance while driving the car with ODBI? I suspect the hesitation on my car for the first 2 or 3 secs after I press the gas pedal may be related to firing advance and I would like to dicard this by monitoring it while driving...
thanks

Re: how to measure the firing advance while driving?

the only ways i can think of require some special equipment. an oscilloscope, a timing light that works with cop systems, or the subaru select monitor. maybe someone else has a good idea but those are the tools i would use. probably just the dual trace oscilloscope monitoring the plug fire on one line and the crank sensor on another so you can relate the two together.
