Transmission speed sensor reinstall question

I pulled the transmission speed sensor out of the transmisson to check it and need to install it. I found when I removed it that there was a convex metal washer that rides on a shoulder just above the transmission drive shaft. When I pulled the washer out I did not notice if the curve was up or down. Anyone done this before?
Also, lining up the tab on the sensor to the groove on the transmisson shaft looks like it will be trouble. Any helpful hints for this?
Thanks.

Re: Transmission speed sensor reinstall question

The tab should line up on it's own as you spin the sensor in. The curve should face away from the sensor. The rubber part of the washer should go against the sensor.

Re: Transmission speed sensor reinstall question

Thank you very much. This will make reinstall much easier than I was going to try.
