West Coast Suggestions?? Moving to LA county

I'm moving to LA county in May 2011. A good friend of mine is headed out that way and I can easily get a transfer at work, so I thought what the heck I've always wanted to go to golden coast. Yeah it's 6 months out but it will sneak up on me if I let it. Anywho, anyone have, or currently live, out that way? Just trying to get an idea of good areas. I'm thinking of the Long Beach area.

In regards to Izzy, I'm in a debate to either have her transported or put her up for sale and just get another one when I get out there.

100% on the side of keeping her. The cost of transporting is nothing compared to the risk of buying a car you dont know the history on. I hope you are at least keeping that cat right?

As far as my job is concerned, I've work for Best Buy for quite a few years and I can get transferred to any location, as long as there's an opening for my position. I wont know that piece to the puzzle until a little bit down the road.

True. To be honest that is what I'm leaning towards. I've been getting quotes and it looks looks like 800-1k is the average transporting cost.

When you get to the west coast plan on driving north for Earl's seafood meet, usually the first weekend in August (seeing the redwoods and the oregon coast on the way of course).
