new guy saying hi

Just about to purchase a 94 FWD. Just curious as to if they are decent vehicles and what kind of value they hold.

I've found a VERY clean 94 with 138k for $2500 and the price seems very fair except that book value is $1800. I'm prepared to offer them $1800 but don't know if it's worth the $2500 asking price.

What are ya'lls thoughts on these and is the price fair (BE HONEST!)

Thanks,
Matty

Re: new guy saying hi

It all depends on the exterior paint/body condidtion, motor/drivetrain condidtion, and interior.

Re: new guy saying hi

everything appears to be in excellent condition. My main concern is it has had 6 owners and no service history is known. Everything runs great and paint is flwaless. Clean carfax as well.

How does the tranny shift?

Re: new guy saying hi

typical automatic. no real hesitating or surging but not silky smooth.

Are the FWD's known to be problematic or poor buys? Obviously I'd prefer the AWD but have heard nightmares about wheel bearings and trans issues. I thought the FWD would avoid a lot of those same problems.

Re: new guy saying hi

Mine was FWD when I bought it and the trans went after 2 months, BUT mine was wrecked and had no service records what so ever so that factored in. It got about 30mpg though. The TPS on the one your looking at could be off which would cause some hesitation in the tranny, and if everything is as good as you say it is then $2500 don't sound bad at all. What color is it and does it have woodgrain or gray interior panels?
