Hit a curb, now havingl problems when turning

I accidently ran into curb and am now having problems when turning. My front passenger wheel was the only wheel that hit the curb. The car runs fine when going straight. I notice that when turning either to the left or right that the wheels want to lock up. It is more noticable when turning to the left. I took it to Firestone to have it looked at and they couldn't find anything wrong or broken on the side of the impact. I have read that it might be a problem with the transfer case. If so, would it be the one in the front or the rear? I'm thinking that I might need to take it to the dealer to diagnos the problem. Any idea what a rebuild would cost? My car is an AWD Lsi.

How hard did you hit this curb? If you hit it in excess of 2 or 3 mph, I would expect that the axle and wheelbearing are probably thrashed and maybe the A frame/Control arm is a little bent as well. The locking up tells me that perhaps the axle is thrashed and that the guys at Firestone missed something.

Funny thing is that I wasn't going that fast, less than 15mph. The technician that looked at the car said that nothing seemed to be bent and recommended that I take it to the dealer.

thanks.

Put it on an alignment rack. My bet is you knocked the castor angle back a couple degrees, likely indicating a bent control arm, strut, or knuckle. I'm slightly amazed that your wheel is fine though. 18"+any sort of impact normally leads to the rim being less round than it was before. Get them to throw it on a balancer to check just in case.
