What are Lash adjusters?
Supposedly they have something to do with taking the cam shaft out of the car?? I am getting a cam shaft from a doner, and going to install it in my DD car and the instructions mention the lash adjusters but doesn't say what the heck they are. I got the cam shafts out ok but what is the story on lash adjusters.
The things that hold the cam shaft in have no adjustment on them. All help appricated Keith |

Hi Keith.
The camshaft gear incorporates components between the cam lobes and the valves. These are lash adjusters, i.e. they take up play between the cam and the valve. Those fitted to the SVX are adjusted automatically via oil pressure and require no mechanical adjustment as a maintenance procedure. A could provide you with plenty of reading. Cheers, Trevor.
