Question Heating Problems 95

Hi Guy's, I have no clue how to fix more than change tires but I have some problems and would like some help.
Bot 95 SVX 128000 miles, Drove from Denver to Kelowna BC in may, 80 MPH all the way, no problems except rear left howlind. Registered in Canada., new tires and fixed leak in steering column. Licensed.
Changed bearing. While on short trip, upper rad hose blew off, stopped, cooled car, connected hose, filled with water and was off. 35k later smoke billowing at rear of car, stopped looked underneath and saw oil flowing from Tranny. Called BCAA, towed car into Town and left car at shop with note for repair outlining problems, not at Subaru dealer. Car was repaired but car was overheating and leaking. also AC was not working, was repaired and waterpump was replaced. Next weekend, AC fine, up the hill to Merritt after 15 minutes at 120 Klicks temp was soaring, so back to Shop. Again repaired, new thermostat, again up the hill. again temp is soaring. Went on 200 k trip on flat terrain and all was well but up steep hill again temp is climbing. I don't want to take to same shop as they never appologised for recurring problem but stick with the bill and I,m a softy so I just descided not to go back. So anybody have any suggestions? I like my Red car very much as body is in nice shape with nice leather inside. All suggestions will be appreciated. Thank You.

Cooling

Hi Trev, Since you have replaced most ot the usual stuff you might want to take a look at the radiator. Take care, BOBB

I had a similar problem at the beginning of summer. I could run all day until I slowed down in stop and go traffic. No hills in the Twin Cities. The local temp sensor was going bad, located on the driver side rear engine block with two wires. It ended up being the a/c fan fuse in the engine fuse box. The one right next the FWD fuse. I would start there and see what you find. A quick check would be a to see if the left fan will run when the temp starts to over heat.
Good Luck

Steve

Welcome to the site. I hope they didn't take too much out of your wallet for the radiator.

The dealership here in Winnipeg wanted CAD$800 for the radiator. I drove to Minneapolis and picked up one for USD$320. Even after duties/taxes/exchange it was still only about CAD$500.
