How to install the tranny oil temperature guage?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how to install/fix the tranny oil temperature meter. I have installed an external filter of Permacool and I have installed the sensor onto it but havent did the rest part of the temperature guage. I just left the wire ran untill the battery and left there so that i can run it inside later after i get some suggestions.

So what is the procedureof installing the temperature guage?

There are 3 wires on your temp gauge. One power, one ground, and one that connects to the temp sensor you installed in your filter kit. Hook them up and you are ready to go.

Do you really want to hook it directly to the battery? Aside from create a mess of wires (even more so for us amped SVXers) couldn't a surge cause some damage?

edit: I read your post again and even though it's 6am, I am coherant enough to think you said you will run the wire inside the [somewhere] else. Right?

If ya do you should run an inline fuse with it. I have mine wired into the fuse box. If you're gonna go to the trouble I'd suggest putting the sender in the pan as that is where the highest/most accurate readings will be.

Yes, I will run the wires inside and i am not hooking it to battery directly, i just kept them there and I ahve to run them inside. Just waiting how to give the connections to it (in some easiest way).

He has a PermaCool filter, so it has a place for the sending unit. I know that it is not as good, but it is the easiest.

How did you attach the wires to the fuse box and where?

One of the mechanics I use did it. Basically it is a wire with a prong thingy on it that actually goes into the top of the fuse box and directly into a fused side of a fuse. The cover still fits on. Its nice as I can simply unhook it if I don't want it on while driving at night or whatever. Only hit it getting in once or twice.

thanks for ur link. Wow!... again its by earl .

But i really want to know the best connections that i can link to my gauge and i am waiting for tht information. Becos i dont want to mess up with my dashboard wiring.
