Road & Track December issue states " The 90-degree V-10 ia a clean-sheet design, engineered specfically for this car (and the forthcoming M6) and not based on any existing BMW powerplant, including the BMW Formula 1 engine."

This thing is a NA V-10, 8200rpm redline, 507hp, 7 speed sequential tranny, 5.0-liter

Dayle, was the Lexus SC300 vitually identical to the soarer with the exception of left hand drive? I sat in a SC400 once and thought it was nice. I heard almost all SC's were automatics. There was an article in SCC about a 5 speed SC300.

The new M6 is pretty sweet. Same V10 as the M5, but 2 door, and some other awesome features.

I too am a fan of the 8 series...that's a good lookin car. Many others are on my list, but I'll stick with the BMW theme that has arisen in this thread.

I'd take the new Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG over the M5/M6. Unfortunately they only made 100 or 1000 and all are gone. The new BMW's are coyote ugly. As a proud German of Bavarian decent, it hurts to see where BMW is going these days. iDrive and all. I'd like to see M-B do more cars for our shores. I couldn't afford any of them, but it'd be nice.

I've been in love with the Cobra Daytona since they first appeared.

Today I got to drive a 2003 SMG M3. Awesome car. The shifting on the highest setting was incredibly fast and the way it blipped the throttle on down-shifts was just flat out cool. I want.
