Best way to bleed the PS system?

Hey folks,

I'm now finished with the PS rack and need to bleed the system. What's the best way to do this? Should I simply disconnect the return hose on the rack and let someone feed ATF on the reservoir up top while I let her drain? This is with the engine running.

I did a short writeup on the removal of the rack on another thread as a FYI.

Significant Technical Input
Same as on all cars - remove the p/s cap, start the engine and slowly turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock at idle. 5-6 times should be enough, any air beyond that will dissipate over the next day or so.

Thanks Beav. What's the best way to "flush" the old fluid out of the system? I want to make sure that there aren't any contaminents in the system.

I'd disconnect the return line at the pump and direct it into a collection pan. Plug the nipple you removed the hose from and flush while running with 2-3 quarts of ATF. Put the hose back on, fill to proper level, bleed and drive.
