Ken, that's a Subaru design fault. I have owned 5 Subaru's, and not one could defrost properly. It must not get very humid or cold in that part of Japan.

hell, you had the Limited power leather seats, which are supposed to be more comfortable.
i put the seat back another notch and gave it one crank up from the lowest postion last week, and it seems to be working better for me.

i don't have any issues with the AC - it blows out nice n' cold. i bought the car in April and didn't shut the AC off until October. i haven't really had to use the defrost yet, but Mrs. Shark does complain that her rear defrost is pretty slow.

The stuff in my jap car doesn't seem as agressive as the stuff in my US car, Both being 97 Limiteds. The jap car seat heaters work better, but air and defrost work better in US car. No prob w/ rear defrost and such.

Just got back from Miami last night so im late chiming into this thread. About the legacy....you can get an 06 with cloth but you won't get a turbo either. If you dont need the turbo...as i see your getting a TR then you can get an 06 Legacy but the sunroof and power everything is standard. We have a brilliant silver 06 legacy with power everything and the standard engine with no turbo.

interesting. both SVXs, a 2000 legacy gt, 2000 impreza coupe, and a 2002 forester all seemed defrost just fine. having a rear wiper in three of them certainly helped.

i'm by no means considered tall, but when i used to frequent legacygt.com, i read about others complaining about teh seats. most of them were long-legged people. i kept my seat all the way and tilted in the forst as much as i could handle and my quads still ached after a long drive.

i didn't have any problem with the AC being cold except when i was trying to using it to defrost the windows in the summer.

the wrx tr is still a turbo, it just doesn't have all the bells and whistles. additionally, teh legacy gt msrp is also about $30k.
