Anyone ever use Ace Alternators? 160 Amp ones for sale
Right after Christmas I am going to replace my alternator. Been looking around for different replacements and came across these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Alternator-F...item2caea41816 160 amp rebuild and says a Mistubishi for $140 shipped. Does this seem cheap? You know what they say about too good to be true. Also, are there any disadvantages or extra things you have to do to run a 160 amp over a 95?

Re: Anyone ever use Ace Alternators? 160 Amp ones for sale
Seems a little cheap, since they offer free shipping and NO core return. They would have to buy SVX alternators and our special pulleys on their own. Maniac was buying dead alternators outright from us to use in their rebuilds.
Maniac Electric built them to order and not an a group. Thorough bench testing When Maniac Electric Motors was selling the 160A high-output alternators here, they were $228.00 outright, $188.00 with core exchange. 1 year warranty and free shipping of alternator and free shipping on return core. If your electrical system works fine using the 95A alternator, the 160A alternator can be used in place of that without wiring upgrades. The stock alternator is designed to give you 35% of the rated output at idle; that's a little over 33A. The 160A unit is designed to give you 55% of maximum output at idle. That's 88A at idle, but only if you need it. In the winter, with simultaneous high-draw circuits in operation (headlights, defrosters, wipers, heated mirrors, etc) the 160A alternator does not have to work as hard as the stock one. The main reason for the upgraded wiring is to offset the electrical resistance of our aging, corroded wiring and bad grounds. See the attached article. .

Re: Anyone ever use Ace Alternators? 160 Amp ones for sale
I messaged Ace a few times to get details. Always promised to respond ASAP but it never happened. I just gave up and bought a second hand Maniac.
