Battery Terminal Wires

I'm going home for Christmas this weekend and hopefully getting the SVX on the road, stickers and all. I replaced the battery last time I was home and found 2 brown wires "attached" to the negative terminal.

And by attached, I mean just stripped wire run around the post with the terminal tightened over it. They are small, 14ish gauge wires.

Did the original ground terminal have any wires attached other than the main ground wire?
