Braking Issues After Replacing Lines/Pads/Rotors

On Friday a friend and I got the Race Concepts lines & rotors and Axxis brake pads installed on my car. Along with the parts swap, we replaced the brake fluid with the ATE Super Blue fluid.

We bled the lines 3 separate times, and by the 2nd and 3rd attempts, there seemed to be no air coming out. However, when I apply the brakes, the pedal goes about half way to the floor before the pads really start grabbing. If I let up a little bit and pump again, it seems the pedal response is back to how it used to be. But by the next time I go to stop, its the same routine.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong? My friend is a mechanic who has worked on cars his whole life... I would be surprised if we did this one wrong? He suggested braking hard a handful of times to try to work anything else out of the system, but that doesn't seem to be helping.

HELP!
