Re: So I'm probably going to defect. Again... (LONG)
(to all)
You know, I didn't like the 1'er in pictures, either... but in person the dimensions all seem to make sense. The really short rear deck is still a bit odd looking even in person, but it is a wonderfully shaped rear end. Besides, to be honest I'm not looking at the outside of the car I guess in a way I'm trying to recapture the car I really did love as much or more than the SVX; my 2001 330i (5 speed manual, sport package suspension and seats) which I drove the hell out of. It was an absolute riot to drive fast, but could settle down on the highway when I needed it to. It was pretty needy on maintenance though, but it was higher mileage even when I got it. The 135i reminded me a lot more of the 330i than the current 3 series. When I drove the 3'er it felt bloated and heavy... the 135i feels spritely and fun (even though it's only a couple hundred pounds lighter). As for convincing me to keep my SVX... yeah I am not sure at the moment. I would love to, but I doubt that's in the cards. Honestly, it's just not a "driveway queen" kind of car, and I want to see someone love it as I have. I guess if someone wanted to restore it, then there's not far to go because it's in gorgeous shape for its age and miles. But honestly, not for me. So anyway... thanks all for the input and I'll keep posting and hanging around here. If you or anyone you know might be interested in picking up my lovely 96 probably around mid November for a decent price, let me know by PM or post here. I'll be glad to make a decent deal for someone who'll take care of her.
